It is hard to summarize in words the mixture of emotions I felt at learning a judge cleared the way for a law banning both gender-affirming care for trans youth and trans athletics from participating in school sports. As I read the ruling on August 6, a red hot, searing anger clouded my mind as a cold sadness filled my heart.
