The word "dream" has many definitions. In its most common interpretation, it's what you do when you're sleeping. In another sense, it's idealistic or something you aspire to. In the sense I'm using it, it's the exact opposite. These "dream" targets might be a little unrealistic.

Across the storied history of the Stanley Cup, there are countless iconic names that have been engraved as champions. Henri Richard. Wayne Gretzky. Mario Lemieux. Mark Messier. Rod Brind'Amour. In just a few short weeks, Jeff Skinner could become immortalized in history. All he needs are four more victories.

    As the Hurricanes aim for the next step in the postseason, one position needs immediate improvement if they want to reach the top of the mountain. There are two or three holes that the Hurricanes need to fix this offseason. Along with looking for an impact winger or two, and possibly a right-handed defenseman, the most glaring issue is at center. More specifically, the Hurricanes need a second-line center to play behind Sebastian Aho who can score consistently.

    As Burns is set to hit free agency on July 1, there are questions about what could be next for the veteran defenseman as his chase for the Stanley Cup lives on. Few players on the roster are more polarizing both on and off the ice than Brent Burns. The right-handed defenseman is one of the oldest active players in the league with a backpack as full as the accomplishments he has racked up since being drafted by the Minnesota Wild in 2003.
