AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) — Bryson DeChambeau believed his game was in good enough shape to win the Masters. He certainly thought he could do it after he leapfrogged Rory McIlroy to take the lead two holes into the final round Sunday. But perhaps the fact that he hit more golf balls on the range at Augusta National than anyone else in the field — by far — was a sign that all was not right with golf's quirky, long-hitting technician.

AUGUSTA, Ga. — Sammy Spieth, age 3, hit a better tee shot by his standards than playing partners Justin Thomas and Max Homa did by theirs on the second hole of the Par 3 Contest at the Masters. He teed up a driver, gripped it cross-handed and sent his ball about 30 yards down the middle, while Thomas and Homa hit their wedges short and right into a bunker. Sammy's dad, 2015 Masters champion Jordan Spieth, didn't bother to tee off.

The Par-3 Contest at the Masters was all about the kids, with star turns 3-year-old Sammy Spieth, 4-year-old Cooper Bradley, 4-year-old Poppy McIlroy and 5-year-old Sun-woo An. https://t.co/IGRt2iOzKa

Max Homa: personable and honest, even while slumping. Also, he told me his caddie fired him (and they're still friends). https://t.co/xaFI3iv9oo
