Since 2020, Venezia has collaborated with the American Red Cross to host 119 blood drives at Big Night Live on Causeway Street in Boston. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the need for blood donations was extremely high.

The unique utility is designed so it can be placed underneath a vehicle from a safe distance and apply water to the necessary area. Once connected to a fire hydrant, it can dispense approximately 300 gallons per minute.

    The Police Department graduated its most recent group of “recruits” from its Citizen Police Academy this past week. The CPA is a free nine-week course held at the Council on Aging that takes an in-depth look at the town’s police work on both general and day-to-day levels. The eighth group of students in the program’s history consisted of nearly 20 residents who committed to a three-hour session every Friday before being awarded their graduation certificates.

    The Marblehead Christmas Walk is returning for its 52nd year. The Chamber of Commerce’s four-day holiday extravaganza begins on Thursday, Nov. 30 and is slated to have more than 60 individual events. Chamber Executive Director Katherine Koch was especially looking forward to this year’s edition of the walk, after some of last year’s most popular festivities were hindered by the weather.
