USDA’s latest crop progress report, out Monday and afternoon and covering the week through June 1, held the most data points for traders to consider so far this season. Of particular note, the agency began tracking 2025 soybean quality ratings. The agency also continues to report on corn ratings, plantings for various crops, and winter wheat harvest. Corn plantings moved from 87% a week ago up to 93% through Sunday, mirroring analyst expectations.

The latest export sales report from USDA, out Friday morning and covering the week through May 22, held mixed but mostly bearish data for traders to digest. Corn sales led the way but were still toward the lower end of analyst estimates. Soybean sales were also lackluster, and it’s worth noting that China (which typically accounts for more than half of total sales) is not an active buyer at the moment. Wheat sales found some decent upside after a bevy of new crop sales, meantime.

USDA’s latest crop progress report, out Tuesday afternoon and covering the week through May 25, held some new data points for traders to digest – corn and spring wheat quality ratings, to name a few. The agency also confirmed that corn and soybean plantings continue to move closer to the finish line, despite some rain delays in some areas this past week. Corn plantings moved from 78% in the prior week up to 87% through Sunday. That was one point below the average trade guess of 88%.

Getty Images/David_JohnsonUSDA’s latest grain export inspection report, out Tuesday morning and covering the week through May 22, held mixed but mostly bullish data for traders to digest. Of particular note, wheat volume pushed moderately higher week-over-week and bested the entire set of analyst estimates. Corn volume was also relatively strong despite a moderate week-over-week decline. Soybeans were also down from the prior week, spilling to the lower end of trade guesses.

USDA’s latest export sales report, out Thursday morning and covering the week through May 15, held a mixed bag of data for traders to digest. Corn again led the way, staying toward the middle of analyst estimates. Wheat outperformed expectations after hauling in better-than-anticipated new crop sales. Soybeans were relatively disappointing, in contrast. Corn exports found 55.5 million bushels in combined old and new crop sales last week.

I hope everyone in Rolla is doing well and we can laugh even in the face of tragedy. Doing a parade 15 hours after a tornado rips through town is WILD. #rollamo #mowx #missouri #bestever #StPatricksDay https://t.co/As3b52uDDe
