ST. JOSEPH — Watervliet has a very different lineup this season than the one that won last year's Division 3 baseball state championship, but the Panthers are still getting good results. Watervliet defeated Michigan Lutheran 6-0 and 7-3 on Thursday in a non-conference doubleheader to improve to 3-0 on the season.

STEVENSVILLE — Lakeshore wasn't going to complain about the weather. The Lancers were just happy to take the field. Lakeshore defeated Kalamazoo Central 6-1 on Wednesday in a snowy Southwestern Michigan Athletic Conference girls soccer game. STEVENSVILLE — Lakeshore's seniors walked off their home court Friday for the final time as one of the most successful classes in Lancers girls basketball history. The Lancers defeated Portage Central 36-33 to win the school's first Division 1 district basketball championship. STEVENSVILLE — Lakeshore overcame a sluggish start to defeat Kalamazoo Central 55-37 in Wednesday's Division 2 girls basketball district semifinal. St. Joseph had the opposite experience in the first semifinal of the evening, jumping out to a big first-quarter lead before Portage Central got hot from the outside and came back for a 49-45 victory.
