Grand Island U-Save Pharmacy snapped a three-game losing streak in a big way, Wednesday night. “That was a really good rebound game,” U-Save coach Ryan Anderson said. “We’ve kind of been in a little bit of a losing streak and so it felt really good to get back in the win column.”U-Save beat Kearney Jerseys 16-1 in four innings to improve to 8-8 on the year. The win comes after U-Save had scored two runs in its previous three games.

Kearney Misko Sports had a lead in Tuesday’s game against Grand Island Home Federal, but it didn’t last for long. Home Federal beat Misko Sports 7-1 to extend its win streak to four games. “Won four in a row, we started off there in a little bit of a, I wouldn’t say funk, we weren’t playing bad, we just kind of had some bad luck,” Home Federal coach Kirby Wells said.

Grand Island Home Federal left little to doubt in its doubleheader against North Platte Great Plains Health. Home Federal won the first game 14-3 and the second 11-3. “Overall a great day. I can’t talk enough about our offense, putting up 15 runs in the first inning combined score of nine in the first (game) and six in the second (game),” Home Federal coach Kirby Wells said.

Grand Island Home Federal snapped a four-game losing streak with an 8-3 win over Columbus Cornerstone Bank on Tuesday night. “That’s a win right there that can change (the) momentum of our season,” Home Federal coach Kirby Wells said. “We’ve gone through a funk here in the last week and a half and haven’t been necessarily playing bad baseball.”Ethan Coslor got the start for Home Federal and pitched six innings. He had six strikeouts and allowed six hits as he picked up his first win of the season.

Grand Island Five Points Bank closed out the weekend with a win. After losses Friday and Saturday, Five Points Bank defeated Lincoln Northeast Ayars & Ayars 7-5 in six innings. “Good to end the weekend with a win,” Five Points Bank coach Adam Brown said. “Still a lot of work to do on the defensive side of the ball, but I think we’re coming around.”Five Points Bank lost to Sandhills Global (Lincoln Pius X), 8-5, on Saturday after it was originally scheduled to play two games at home.
