I do not envy the job of redesigning a car like the 2025 MINI Cooper S. On one hand, you want to give it a fresh look that can wow the public. On the other hand, it cannot deviate too much from what made the original an icon and such a success for over six decades. Even after taking one look at this latest iteration, I think their designers have done as great a job to evolve what is easily among the most recognizable shapes in the automotive world.

Before I tell you about the 2025 Genesis G70 3.3T Sport, let me first tell you about my friend Matt. He is a young professional, married without kids, and is a big car guy. His personal fleet currently includes a stunning Lotus Emira, a Mazda RX-7 and MX-5 RF, a Mercedes-Benz C 55 AMG, a Porsche Cayenne GTS, and a sixth-generation Volkswagen Golf R. These are just the cool cars in his fleet. Do not get me started on the cars of his past.

For some odd reason, whenever someone thinks of vehicles from Mercedes-Benz, the flagship S-Class or entry-level C-Class, their various SUVs, or even the storied brand’s sports cars first come to mind. Everyone forgets about the middle child, the 2024 Mercedes-Benz E 450 4Matic. I think this is odd because the E-Class has made a pretty significant mark since it debuted more than 75 years ago.

When it comes to flagships, every company seems to take a slightly different approach. The LS 500 demonstrates Lexus’ exceptional craftsmanship, the BMW 7 Series gives drivers the ultimate feeling of control, and the Genesis G90 focuses on the passenger experience. The 2024 Mercedes-AMG S 63 E Performance, on the other hand, shows us a completely new way of experiencing luxury. From the outside, the S 63 looks high-tech.

Remember the Chevrolet Traverse? We didn’t, either. The midsize, three-row Traverse has long been a middle-of-the-pack offering in one of North America’s hottest segments, but GM recently that should no longer be the case and gave it a bold redesign. Enter the new, third-generation, off-road-capable 2025 Chevrolet Traverse Z71. We think it finally deserves your attention. First off, the looks.
