I read some reviews that complained America Chavez was an omnipotent superhero who could do anything. Well, even a cursory view of the movie should tell you otherwise. She's a young, inexperienced girl whose powers mostly burst out when her emotions are at a high. She gains some control during the movie, but the first Dr. Strange she encounters wants to kill her precisely because she can't use her powers properly. As often happens, the movie alters some plot lines from the comics.
