General Electric Co. is exercising some cost increases to pass on additional charges caused by US President Donald Trump’s tariffs, as the world’s largest aircraft engine maker advocates for a return to a duty-free regime that long underpinned the industry. (Bloomberg) -- The global airline industry stands to earn a collective $36 billion this year, a downward revision from the most recent prediction issued in December amid growing trade tensions and a drop in consumer confidence, the leading aviation association said. The new forecast compares with the $36.6 billion profit target issued for 2025 at the end of last year, the International Air Transport Association said in a statement Monday.

(Bloomberg) -- The global aviation industry is benefiting from lower oil prices because they’re bringing down the cost of kerosene, the head of the IATA industry association said. The reduction in oil prices is in turn helping drive down ticket prices, said Willie Walsh, the director general of the International Air Transport Association.
