I've seen a few Star Wars lightsabers in my time, and have swung enough around to avoid hitting myself most of the time. That's why I wasn't expecting to be surprised by new merch that recreates one of the coolest moments from a galaxy far, far away. This really is a weapon from a more civilized age.

I'm feeling personally attacked by this new Star Wars helmet replica, and I would like to complain. I was able to visit Disney HQ and see a lot of the merch for May 4 ahead of time last month, and while plenty stood out (like the RC Mouse Droid, which I'm obsessed with), I was immediately drawn to a replica Star Wars helmet sitting quietly in one corner.
I review Lego Star Wars for a living, and these are the discounted sets I would buy myself for May 4

May 4 is fast approaching like a starfighter out of hyperspace, and plenty of Lego Star Wars kits have been slashed in price to mark the occasion. Display models, playsets, and more have been reduced by up to (or, if you're based in the UK, up to £154). I started writing about the range a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, so am ready to - and a few discounts in particular have caught my eye.

Lightsabers are cool and all, but for me, Star Wars droids are some of the best things about a galaxy far, far away. Part friend and part pet, they're ever reliable and, in the case of R2-D2 or Chopper, will merrily assist you do crimes. They are, in a word, great. I'd very much like to have a robot buddy like this in real life. It seems as though someone at Disney heard me, because you can now get your hands on real-life Star Wars droids.

MenuMay is upon us, and that means many of this month's new Lego sets are from a galaxy far, far away. Nine, in fact. Star Wars fans are truly eating well; alongside a new Ultimate Collector Series kit, new playsets and display pieces are on the way too. While Star Wars kits are well and truly in the limelight over the next few weeks, they're not the only noteworthy new Lego sets for May 2025.

ICYMI: We were able to reveal two new @DisneyLorcana cards for Valentine's Day! It's only right that these two will kick butt when paired in a deck. https://t.co/t3nwOm3Vns
