    Pets at Home New Malden opened their new Pet Care Centre on 29th November, at a cost of £2.2m.  The 27,360-square-feet care centre is the single largest investment in Pets at Home’s history.  Store Manager of Pets at Home, Bart Kemel, said: “This isn’t just a store – it’s a haven for pet lovers and their furry friends,  “With a fresh look and feel, an enhanced range of top-tier services, and a shopping experience like no other, we’ve created a space that truly celebrates the joy of pet ownership”.

    The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, officially announced new names and colours of the London Overground rail lines at Dalston Junction on 26th November.  However, residents have questioned the decision to tweak the line and say the rebrand has made it more confusing to navigate around the service. In a £6.3m upgrade, the Overground lines now go by the names of Liberty, Lioness, Mildmay, Suffragette, Weaver and Windrush.

    Local ecologist, Alison Fure, who campaigns for tree conservation in Kingston, told the Kingston Courier about the devastating impact planning development is having on trees in the area.  She said that materials left on the sites of trees affected tree health and more should be done by the council and locals to prevent this.

    Locals have welcomed changes approved earlier this year as part of the ‘Healthy Streets’ initiative set by London-wide authorities to provide safer alternatives to driving. Matt Stephen, a volunteer at Kingston Cycling Campaign (KCC), was closely involved in the development of the Kingston to New Malden cycleway.  He said that the current cycling infrastructure in Kingston is “wholly inadequate” to ensure the safety of cyclists, and discourages people from cycling.

    Residents of Kingston have voiced their concerns regarding what to do about rough sleepers on the streets as winter approaches.   Locals have called for councillors and landlords to take more action as volunteers at foodbank services said the issue is putting pressure on local facilities. Jill Preston, a Kingston resident, said: “We run a Tuesday group foodbank from noon at St Peter’s Church, Norbiton.
