1. IntroductionHealth literacy has had many meanings throughout time, with different emphases and varying levels of specificity [1,2]. In this article, we approach the field of health literacy connected to public health, aiming to identify key trends in the literature and assess the development of academic research in the area. We have opted to implement a bibliometric analysis for this study to show how the field has advanced through time, how authors have networked, and emerging trends.
