Drew Iaderosa flew ten feet down the switchback in midair. His head, knees, and stomach faced the sky as gravity took him backward. He tried to kick out the right edge of his snowboard but couldn’t. It was about noon on February 17, 2024—soft yellow sunlight filtered through the blackened, burnt forest.
