His friend Jemi Waker sustained severe violent injuries, including to both his legs. He is being treated in his village as he cannot go to hospital, due to fears he will be killed in further reprisal attacks.

He is filling political posts with military figures, is sending his cabinet to army boot camps, and has reactivated the dual function of the military to operate in both military and civilian affairs.
