The entrepreneurs started with a smaller focus on either a niche in the industry or a niche like focus on a subset of customers in the market. With Patagonia, it was just outdoor climbing gear. With Van’s, it was skateboard shoes. With Meta, it was to connect alumni at Harvard.

    The ability to communicate used to be taken somewhat for granted. You could be good at verbal communication and weak at written or vice-versa but then you would simply improve the other by taking a simple workshop or being mentored by a manager. All good. Well, Gen Z is a whole different group. Growing up as digital natives, using texts and social media posts to communicate, albeit not well, they simply lack the experience and skill of communicating well. How is this impacting them in the real world?

Specifically, online help in a number of ways. Gen Z is digital savvy and very comfortable in seeking advice via online services. And they are not embarrassed to tell people they need help or are seeing a coach or therapist.
