Season recap: enticements as a teenager/young adult that taught me about not pursuing things I’m not ready for, and then after I get through my career establishment/family creation bucket list I let my writing practice seduce me into basic spirituality practices and attitudes on the sly. And I’ve been warned I’ll have the chance to come back, right after I started the first post graduate school gig. Fascinating about that tidbit, though, it only existed in my awareness.

It’s time. Spiritually, I’ve been a bit of a ringer. I say bit because I don’t mean to mislead anyone, especially not to gain an advantage, and, it’s not like I’m hiding these incredible spiritual talents and gifts. But when I have shown up in spiritual circles, people have been uncertain to the extent that I’m truly embracing the path. Or that I’ve been as far down it as I have. Like everyone I didn’t think I really had more experience than others because I assumed everyone knew what I knew.

I actually think that pregnancy encased me in a weird sense of either denial, or just an energy of I’ll deal with the next immediate goal before thinking about the next.

The next biggest factor is age. Although treatments are becoming more effective over time and there are more options available, just over 20% of people with lung cancer will live longer than five years after diagnosis.
