Tariffs can promote world peace, according to the Republican nominee, now the president-elect. He campaigned that tariffs will “create more factory jobs, shrink the federal deficit, lower food prices and allow government to subsidize childcare and indeed promote world peace.” This revenue stream, in his opinion, will be in the “millions of dollars.”Economists have a very different view.

The right to vote has taken a circuitous path that began in 1776. According to the White House website, “One of the most important rights of American citizens is the franchise — the right to vote. Originally under the Constitution, only white male citizens over the age of 21 were eligible to vote.
