Three of Super Netball’s clear top four really flexed their muscles on the weekend. We’re finally seeing some four-quarter performances now we‘re at the business end. The exception: the Adelaide Thunderbirds. I think fatigue has set in. It’s a long season and a new season for someone like Eleanor Cardwell, who isn’t used to this intensity for such an extended period.

Even with just over half the Super Netball season played, the top four appears set. Which is earlier than usual, but there’s still so much to play for — minus grand final hosting rights, obviously, because Melbourne’s John Cain Arena is already locked in for July 8. It’s about giving yourself the best opportunity and a top-two position is vital in terms of not just getting the double chance, but also the potential for a week off for winning the major semi.
