Otto Addo has entreated fans to not get ahead of themselves after boosting their 2026 World Cup hopes by beating Madagascar in Morocco on Monday. A double from Thomas Partey and a close range finish from Mohammed Kudus gave Ghana a comfortable 3-0 victory over the Malagasy. Ghana, with 15 points, are now five points clear of Madagascar in Group I of the qualifiers, placing them in a healthy position ahead of the final run-in.

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has stated that Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare is the number one goalkeeper in the national team at the moment following back-to-back clean sheets at the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Asare, 32, was handed his debut callup earlier in March and was handed a start in a 5-0 thrashing of Chad at the Accra Sports stadium on March 21.
