College football transfer portal time is again here as the spring portal officially opened on April 16. The Buckeyes have offered a scholarship to a huge offensive tackle who is definitely interested in Ohio State. VIPOhio State offensive line coach Tyler Bowen hit the ground running in regards to recruiting as soon as he arrived in Columbus and hasn't stopped. His work this week has included being on the road stopping at high schools and one of the schools he stopped at was Cincinnati (Ohio) Taft. That stop resulted in a scholarship offer to 2027 offensive tackle Kalel Johnson.

Ohio State head coach Ryan Day, General Manager Player Personnel Mark Pantoni and the Ohio State staff are working hard to land a super 2026 recruiting class. Their class of 11 current 2026 commitments is the country's No. 3-ranked recruiting class in the 247Sports team recruiting rankings. The staff is also working on their 2027 recruiting class. They already have two commitments for that class, wide receiver Jamier Brown and quarterback Brady Edmunds.

A defensive back committed elsewhere wants to return to Ohio State. VIPIn the secondary, the Buckeyes have a commitment from elite safety Blaine Bradford, as well as high 4-star safety/linebacker Simeon Caldwell.
