In late March of 2024 Ohio State linebackers coach James Laurinaitis was recruiting in Georgia and one of his stops was to see Gainesville (Ga.) 2026 linebacker Xavier Griffin. On the stop he offered a scholarship to Griffin. "(It was) very exciting, it being a school I've always wanted to get an offer from," Griffin told Bucknuts at the time. "Not sure when, but hopefully (I'll visit Ohio State) this spring."That visit happened when the Buckeyes held their 2024 spring game.

THE IMPACTIn landing Thomas the Buckeyes have gone into the state of New Jersey, a very good state for prep football talent, to land the No. 2 prospect. Doing that is no easy feat, but Day, Walton, Patricia, Guerrieri and Pantoni have done it. And the Buckeyes have beaten out the top programs across the country in doing so. In particular the Buckeyes have beaten out Michigan and it's always a great thing to beat the Wolverines on the recruiting trail.

Ohio State cornerback target Jordan Thomas from Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic is set to announce his college choice today. The 6-foot-1 and 180-pound Thomas is being recruited by the Buckeyes as a cornerback, but also can play safety. Thomas has a list of at least 36 scholarship offers. In addition to Ohio State his list includes Georgia, Alabama, Oregon, Notre Dame, USC, Miami, Michigan, Texas A&M, Auburn, Michigan State, South Carolina and many others.
