As a 72-year-old with a diagnosis of Non-Verbal Learning Disorder at age 49, one of my true heroes is Pete Gray, who played major league baseball in 1945 using just his left arm. Amazingly, swinging a bat with just one arm, Pete played in 77 games with the St. Lous Browns and batted .218.

By Bill LevineI Just completed the sorting of a 550-piece jigsaw puzzle into five-quart size storage bags, each with hopefully related pieces. This was my first step towards climbing, for me, the Mt. Everest that is puzzle solving with my limited spatial abilities. It has though been an engrossing activity. My last attempt at solving jigsaw puzzles was probably around age 10, when I just gave up, fitfully trying to fit pieces together.

Our octet of septuagenarian buddies picnicked at the kitchen table surrounded by the Celtics game on two large screens. We then convened to the sofas for the whimsical part of the evening, a sharing of our ancient wisdom. This being a fun-loving rather than Socratic crowd, wisdom-sharing evolved into more of a roast.
