Despite being the world’s fifth largest economy, California doesn't produce a pound of steel. That will soon change. This month, we’re breaking ground on a new steel mill in eastern Kern County. Developed by Pacific Steel Group and financed in part by Generate Capital, this will be the first steel mill built in California in 50 years, marking a revival after decades of mill closures.
