    HOLLYWOOD — A star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was unveiled May 30 honoring comedian Ricky Gervais for a television career best known to Americans for hosting the Golden Globe Awards. In his native England, Gervais is best known as a co-creator and star of the BBC Two comedy, “The Office,” which was adapted into the American version that ran from 2005 to 2013 on NBC. “This is pretty crazy and humbling,” Gervais told the crowd as he accepted the honor.

    LOS ANGELES — On Feb. 23, 2020, Ahmaud Arbery, a 25-year-old Black man, decided to jog in Satilla Shores, a neighborhood in Glynn County, Georgia. He never made it back home. Arbery was murdered on the streets of a Brunswick neighborhood by three white men who confronted him during what’s been described as a racially motivated hate crime.
