The aquatic center is being built at Walter B. Williams Jr. Park. Published 3:50 pm Thursday, April 17, 2025 The bodies of two men were discovered in the backyard of a residence on the 100 block of South Main Street SW in Baldwin County Thursday morning. Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office Maj. Brad King, commander of the criminal investigation division, said authorities received a 911 call shortly before 10 a.m. indicating the bodies had been discovered. They were found near a shed in a shady area of the backyard.

Floyd L. Griffin Jr. will be back under the Gold Dome in January after defeating incumbent state Rep. Ken Vance in Tuesday’s General Election. Vance, who represents the newly created House District 149, defeated Griffin in Tuesday’s General Election in both Baldwin and Jones counties. The race wasn’t decided until the votes were tallied in the four precincts of Macon-Bibb County, which are predominately comprised of Black Democrat voters.
