Kolbe Windows & Doors recently completed and activated a solar panel system on the roof of its main manufacturing facility in Wausau, Wisconsin. This 999.6-kW array consists of 2,061 photovoltaic panels and is expected to offset 31.8% of the window manufacturer’s current energy consumption at the plant. Kolbe worked closely with Northwind Solar, a PV contractor from Amherst, on the design and installation of the system.

The Dos Palos Clean Power project in Merced County, one of California’s first community solar projects, is now online and providing emission-free power to residents in underserved communities. A joint project from Peninsula Clean Energy and Renewable America, Dos Palos will generate 3 MW of solar power as part of Peninsula Clean Energy’s Green Access Program, which is providing income-qualified customers in San Mateo County and Los Banos with a 20% reduction to their electric bills.

Solar trackers have the advantage of generating more energy by pointing modules toward the sun. The NCCETC released its Q1 2025 edition of “The 50 States of Solar,” a quarterly report that provides insights on state regulatory and legislative discussions and actions on distributed solar policy.
