Introduction IgE-mediated food allergy affects approximately 8% of children in the United States (1). While treatment options beyond avoidance are increasing, food allergy continues to present a significant burden for those affected (2). Recent studies have provided evidence that the early introduction of allergens during infancy can help prevent the development of IgE-mediated food allergy (3–6).
