When the 188-metre-long Iranian container ship Shiba once again docked in the port of Antwerp in late September, there was no cause for concern. It stayed there for seven days before sailing back to Iran. Everything was done by the book, as with its previous 10 visits to the port in recent years. But, unknown to the port authority, the Shiba’s voyage from Iran to Belgium had been highly unusual.
