The TSSAA Board of Control voted Wednesday to move the track and field state championships from Murfreesboro’s Dean A. Hayes Stadium to Tom Black Track at the University of Tennessee. CARL EDMONDSON JR. A pair of TSSAA Spring Fling sports will move out of Murfreesboro starting next season.

Green Hill Athletic Director EJ Wood (left) has been named the new assistant executive director of the TSSAA. FILEGreen Hill Athletic Director EJ Wood was unanimously approved Tuesday as the newest assistant executive director for the TSSAA. Wood will replace Gene Menees, who worked in the same role for the TSSAA for 34 years before announcing his retirement in April. Menees will officially step away August 31. He was the association’s administrator for baseball and basketball.
