@CharlieMcKayWhich ingredients would your ultimate larder be stocked with? If I'm lucky enough to travel, I like to pick up things to bring home with me. On a recent trip to Italy, for instance, I bought new season's olive oil and a big tin of anchovies in salt. I'm still well stocked with pul biber (red pepper flakes) from the market in Istanbul, bottarga from Sardinia and pomegranate molasses from Lebanon.

The best restaurants in Chelsea: The Lavery is among Blanche Vaughan's favouritesChelsea, London's picturesque north-bank neighbourhood, is largely populated by a pleasing mélange of Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian buildings that play host to smart boutiques, coffee shops and, perhaps most importantly, restaurants. Soup season is officially underway and we're throwing all our energies into making as many batches as possible. Spinach soup is a delicious and easy way to eat your greens, as well as being easy to prepare. Louis SheridanYou have restaurants in both the Lassco building and Selfridges. Do you end up amassing pieces of equipment from either of these places in your kitchen at home? Or are there other things that give it a personal feel? It's quite the opposite. Spending so much time in such maximalist emporia has given me a total aversion to stuff. My home kitchen is as minimally equipped as possible - a reflection of the simple cooking that I enjoy domestically.

CAROL SACHSWhich recipe from your cookbook Rambutan is the best to try first? The lemongrass, kale and coconut dal is easy and nutritious, and will introduce you to distinctive Sri Lankan flavours - lemongrass, coconut milk, turmeric, tempered spices and pandan. It also uses one of my favourite techniques: tempering spices with some oil in a pan then pouring it all into the dal. © Alex LauYour restaurant Rambutan is in Borough Market. Where are your favourite places to shop there?
