The abatement and recovery of heavy metals such as copper (Cu) in anthropogenic wastewater is necessary due to their toxic effect to ecosystem and depletion of Cu resource [1], [2]. Commonly, heavy metals are coexisted with chelating agents, such as ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA), citrate, tartrate, nitriletriacetic (NTA) etc, forming stable Cu-organic complexes thereby [3], [4].
