Niall Reid-Stephen broke a 1-1 tie in the 83rd minute, giving South Georgia Tormenta a 2-1 win over Portland Hearts of Pine in a USL League One game Saturday night in Statesboro, Georgia. Portland (0-1-2) allowed its first goal in three league games when South Georgia’s Mason Tunbridge scored in the sixth minute. The 1-0 lead stood until the late stages of the match, when the Tormenta were reduced to 10 players after Anatolie Prepeliță received a second yellow card in the 79th minute.

Wyllum Deveaux’s power-play goal with 7:02 remaining lifted the Maine Mariners to a 1-0 win over the Adirondack Thunder in an ECHL game Saturday night in Glens Falls, New York. Robert Cronin and Lynden McCallum assisted on Deveaux’s 19th goal of the season. Nolan Maier made 34 saves for the Mariners in their final road game. The teams meet again in the season finale at 3 p.m. Sunday at Cross Insurance Arena.

Guerrero and the Blue Jays finalized a $500 million, 14-year contract that starts in 2026, a deal with a record $325 million signing bonus. Then the slugger went 3 for 5 and scored the team’s first run.

ORLANDO, Fla. — Franz Wagner scored 23 points, Cole Anthony came off the bench with 18 points, and the Orlando Magic beat the Boston Celtics 96-76 on Wednesday night to clinch seventh place in the Eastern Conference and the top spot in the play-in tournament. Baylor Scheierman and Payton Pritchard scored 15 points each to lead the Celtics, who did not use their top six players and made only 7 of 40 3-point shots.
