Every summer my family and I spend a week in the Adirondacks. Every time we go I am impressed by how every business and resident goes out of their way to treat visitors like gold. Americans everywhere are enjoying this long weekend, an extended respite from the daily grind of work or school. To many, it is a joyous occasion, the unofficial start to summer. In the late spring of 2005 I reached out to Tim Marren, editor of the Lockport Union-Sun & Journal at the time, and asked if he needed a columnist. The concept of a Con-Con is getting attention again, as a growing number of Republican governors are clamoring for one in hopes of landing the BBA.

Cuckoos, for which clocks are named, eat caterpillars. Many that they eat are of the spiny and hairy variety. To get rid of those bothersome spines and stinging hairs as they accumulate, cuckoos often replace their stomach lining and first puke up the old one #nature365 https://t.co/ZXd5OLSt73
