The Blue Jays signed the FieldHouse Pirate to a signing bonus of $155,000 US. We can’t recall the last team (or player) to sign a player in his gap year. Taggart (Grimsby, Ont.) was eligible for the 2025 draft in July. And then the Kansas City Royals were next.
