Area governments prepare for property tax cut impacts

Indiana's homeowners will be getting property tax relief starting next year as part of a new law signed two weeks ago. Senate Bill 1 cuts big numbers both from property tax bills, but also property tax revenue in some cases. The main questions now are the same as before this was passed and signed — how much will homeowners save, and what is the impact on revenue? Gov. Mike Braun (R) signed this campaign promise into law, even though the tax relief is not what he originally wanted.
