Posted on For Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno, jeweler Ken Romano was more than a close friend and gambling buddy – he was a “brother.” “My brother Kenny,” Marceno wrote on a campaign poster for Romano that’s framed on the wall of his jewelry store in Bonita Springs. “Thank you for all you do! You are the Best!”According to Romano, it’s true – he did a lot for the sheriff.

Thevideo shows Marceno receiving what appears to be a thick stack of hundred-dollar bills from jeweler Ken Romano, who is said to be cooperating in an FBI investigation of the sheriff.

The consulting agreement, released by LCSO Tuesday, claimed the 55-year-old Romano possessed the “ability, certifications and experience” to do the job and was “duly qualified.” But Romano isn’t a public relations or social media expert.
