Good morning. The NHL playoff start tomorrow, with the Dallas Stars hosting the Colorado Avalanche in Game 1. It’s a fascinating series, one that I started writing about last week. On the Stars, Avalanche, and the first-round prize fight we've all been waiting forToday we wanted to bring a conversational tone to the preview, so I teamed up with my pal Bob Sturm over at Sturm Stack to discuss a Stars-Avalanche in a piece thats’ being co-published at both places.

I was told I need to fit one more wide receiver into my group. This one:Didn’t know anything about Royals or Utah State this year, so this is all learning on the fly. Native of Georgia, but took the scenic route to get here. Another guy who went completely unrated as a recruit. Multi sport athlete with basketball and track, but academics caused issues initially and went to Georgia Military College at first. Landed at Utah State in 2022 and barely played that year, but then broke out nicely.

Born in Royal Linda, California and basically not recruited much at all. Went to Sacramento St and had 2020 washed out by COVID. In 2021 and 2022 at Sacramento St, rushed for 1,900 yards and won Big Sky Offensive Player of the Year in 2022 and All Big Sky (1st). Hit the portal to Arizona State.

Sometimes, I will go find some old projects that I completed from years back and share them with you when the relevance is particularly high. This one was back in 2021 (the ten year anniversary of the 2011 draft) when I was working at The Athletic and you can find the entire original version here. Tyron Smith was one of my favorite Cowboys I have ever covered and he was also one of the most clear-cut draft picks I can ever remember.
