The starting quarterback is in place as Athan Kaliakmanis is the unquestioned starter heading into the 2025 season. However, the battle for the No.2 position has been ongoing. A transfer portal guard out of North Alabama is starting to gain more interest. VIPRutgers' search for a guard continues in the transfer portal and that has led the staff to take a closer look at Taye Fields of North Alabama. The 6-foot-5 Fields is coming off a season that saw him average 11.2 points, 8.6 rebounds and 3.5 assists last season as well as assing 1.5 steals, and 1.1 blocks per game. Things just started to get going between Fields and the Rutgers staff.
