While Week Zero was a delightful amuse-bouche to prepare us for college football season, it pales compared to the feast we have before us this weekend. Here’s a rundown of my favorite game for every single time slot this weekend, where to find it, and why you should pay attention to it. Are there games starting at 5 PM this day? Yes. Are they worth it? Absolutely not. Save your energy: it’ll be a long weekend. Overall, this game is the jewel of the Thursday/Friday slate, which isn’t saying much.

When the Oklahoma City Thunder mostly stayed pat at the 2024 NBA Trade deadline, it clearly indicated that they were looking to ride it out with the unit as currently constructed. The Playoffs are a crucible that exposes the biggest weaknesses in a team - and the 3-2 series loss to the Dallas Mavericks certainly did that. The first glaring weakness - Josh Giddey and his fit in OKC - was solved with the Alex Caruso trade.

Gas station fans in Oklahoma, rejoice: according to reports from KHOU11 in Houston, the beloved Texas gas station chain, Buc-ee’s, is scouting out locations in Oklahoma. This is massive news for a state that has long been passed over for expansion, despite sharing borders with the company’s home state. Given the number of road trips I’ve taken through Texas, I’ve had plenty of experiences with the beaver and his offerings of brisket breakfast tacos, jerky, and the best restrooms you’ve ever seen.
