Oklahoma’s barbecue scene has long existed in the twin shadows of Kansas City to the north and Texas to the south. While staples like burnt ends and beef ribs have made those markets world famous, Oklahoma’s unique item has served as a scarlet letter. A mark of shame, constantly brought up to demean the state’s meat-smoking prowess. I am, of course, talking about smoked bologna. For years, I, too, looked down upon the state’s love of the strange, meat-based product. How could you not?

While Week Zero was a delightful amuse-bouche to prepare us for college football season, it pales compared to the feast we have before us this weekend. Here’s a rundown of my favorite game for every single time slot this weekend, where to find it, and why you should pay attention to it. Are there games starting at 5 PM this day? Yes. Are they worth it? Absolutely not. Save your energy: it’ll be a long weekend. Overall, this game is the jewel of the Thursday/Friday slate, which isn’t saying much.

When the Oklahoma City Thunder mostly stayed pat at the 2024 NBA Trade deadline, it clearly indicated that they were looking to ride it out with the unit as currently constructed. The Playoffs are a crucible that exposes the biggest weaknesses in a team - and the 3-2 series loss to the Dallas Mavericks certainly did that. The first glaring weakness - Josh Giddey and his fit in OKC - was solved with the Alex Caruso trade.
