LEWISTOWN, Mont. – Lewistown Police Protective Association has announced that Central Montana Shelter Solutions will be opening a warming shelter at St. James Episcopal Church to offer refuge from the cold. The shelter, located at 502 W Montana Street, will be open starting this evening, Jan 17, at 7:00 p.m. A "Code Blue" has been declared beginning tomorrow, Jan 18, due to forecasted extreme cold temperatures.

BROWNING, Mont. – The Blackfeet Nation has established an incident command at the Fire Cache to address cold weather emergencies. This includes assistance for frozen pipes, furnace outages, and firewood for the elderly and handicapped. Community members can report wind damage to their properties by calling the Fire Cache at 406-338-2946. The incident command will operate from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., tentatively through Tuesday, the 21st.

KALISPELL, Mont. – A Flathead County Sheriff's Office patrol car was involved in a collision after a driver ran a red light at the intersection of 1st Ave W and 2nd St W. The incident occurred at approximately 7:55 p.m. on January 10, 2025. The patrol car, carrying a Deputy and a Reserve Deputy, was on its way to a call in Evergreen when the crash happened. The collision caused the patrol vehicle to spin and deploy all airbags.

KALISPELL, Mont. – The Kalispell Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in locating missing endangered person Doug Lowitz and his dog, Daisy, who have been missing since the evening of November 28. There is some urgency as it is believed Doug may be having health issues. Doug, who may be experiencing health issues, was last seen at 8:47 p.m. on the 28th walking eastbound on West Reserve Drive near the Stillwater River. He was wearing a white jacket, dress shirt, and dark pants.
