It is time to think about giving thanks – in what has been a perfectly horrible year. But at least Matt Gaetz is no longer slated for the Attorney General office. I don’t know much about the blonde bimbo from Florida whose name was put into Gaetz’s place – except she has been a frequent guest at Mar-a-Lago and she has been mouthing Trump’s lies about the 2020 election. And she will be true to Trump. Even when she is supposed to be true to the American people.

In 2016 I stayed up fairly late on the night of the Presidential tally. By the time I went to bed, Hillary Clinton was way ahead in the popular vote. So I went to sleep with a smile on my face, dreaming of Hillary Clinton as President-elect. When I woke up and learned from every news source available that Donald Trump had won, I thought it was a nightmare. But then I realized that I was actually awake and Trump had won the election.

We may not know the final tally as yet, and Trump has been laying the groundwork for challenges for weeks now. But it is a great relief that all those awful negative ads are gone. I think it is safe to say that Kamala Harris is now President-elect! The Madison Square Garden rally in New York should have clinched the deal for Harris and Walz. Trump and his minions went to court 60 times in 2020, and they lost every single case.

When I was five years old my mother brought me my first kitten. I named him Lucky. Ever since, I have never been without a cat in my life. Cats are delicious and smart and loyal. So when Trump and Vance start insulting women, as they often do, I just get angry. And I reach for my devoted pussycat Cutiepie who loves to curl up inside my silk jacket which I leave on the chair next to mine in the den. Then Cutiepie curls up and falls fast asleep.

I’m Back!It has been nearly a year since I wrote my last weekly column. Here is what happened: I developed a violent cough while I was down the shore, in Ventnor, for the last weekend of summer 2023. By the time I pulled into my driveway, I was coughing so had that I could barely see to exit my car. Fortunately, my friend Pat Macksey and one of my home health aides were there, took one look at me and decided that they had to get me to Lankenau hospital’s emergency room right away.
