Police update last week's disturbance call on Manitou Street

A 20-year-old North Bay man is facing charges following a police investigation into a stabbing incident on Manitou St. last Thursday. The North Bay Police Service says around 9:00 a.m., officers were dispatched to a disturbance, and upon arrival, found a man suffering from injuries from a sharp object. He was taken to hospital by ambulance. Police say the accused was then taken into custody a short time later.
Two motorcyclists injured in collision Sunday

One person remains in hospital after a collision on Lakeshore Drive Sunday afternoon. The North Bay Police Service says just after 1:00 p.m., first responders attended a three vehicle collission at the intersection of Lakeshore Dr. and Premier Rd.Police say a 33-year-old was leaving a driveway and hit an 18-year-old driver of a motorcycle, which caused him to lose consciousness.
FONOM looking to 'The Next 100 Years'

More than 250 municipal leaders from across the north are in North Bay this week (May 5-7) for the annual Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities (FONOM) conference. This year’s theme is “The Next 100 Years” and pays tribute to North Bay’s upcoming centennial in 2025 looking ahead to the future of Northern Ontario. SIU wraps up death investigation

The province’s police watchdog has wrapped its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a 42-year-old man in North Bay in January. The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) was called in after the man was taken from the North Bay Jail to the courthouse cell block and suffered a medical incident later the same day. He was then taken to hospital and pronounced deceased.

Caisse Alliance kicked off the campaign with a $75,000 donation, and is also matching every dollar donated up to a maximum of $25,000. “Replacing our mammography machine is essential to ensuring continued access to high-quality breast cancer screening in our community.
