LIFELINE Blood Services is holding their annual “Luck o’ the Irish” blood drive Thursday at their north Jackson location at 183 Sterling Farms Drive. Plus, for the first 50 lucky donors, the Irish eyes were smiling as they got a free lunch special from Mulligan’s. Leaders with LIFELINE say today’s increased turnout will help in meeting the need for blood in West Tennessee.

JACKSON, Tenn. — Thursday is Pi Day — and what better way to celebrate than with a “pie?”In this case — a pizza pie!The Speedway gas station at the corner of Highway 70 and 412 is selling whole pizzas for only $3.14 to celebrate Pi Day, March 14. The entire store was decorated for the occasion and staff members wore pizza costumes. The pizza pies were flying, as more than 50 pizzas were sold while our crew was there. The store’s management team says today’s Pi Day celebration was definitely fun.

JACKSON, Tenn. — Leaders with the Jackson-Madison County School System release information explaining employee pay raises, which take effect beginning Friday. For teachers, starting salary increases to $46,000 and includes: teachers, interventionist, crisis/school counselors, RNs, school psychologists, speech pathologists, consulting teachers and instructional coaches. The pay raises are also based on years of experience, from a 6% increase to a 10% increase.
