OAK RIDGE, Tenn. (Jan. 16, 2025) – The Oak Ridge Fire Department (ORFD) and Oak Ridge Police Department (ORPD) are investigating after a deadly fire on Sheridan Circle early Thursday morning. ORFD crews responded to the home just before 3 a.m. after a call for a structure fire with a report of a person trapped inside. Upon arrival, there was heavy smoke showing. Crews entered the house and immediately found and removed the occupant from just inside the front door.

Cades Cove Loop Road will be closed to visitors Jan. 20-24GATLINBURG, Tenn.— Great Smoky Mountains National Park will remove hazard trees in Cades Cove on Jan. 20-Jan. 24. This includes removing brush from the side of the road to keep vegetation from hitting passing vehicles and removing all hazard trees that could fall onto the road.
