By some accounts, traditional Tahoe style tended to focus more on the “cabin” and less on the “Tahoe.” The structures that remain may have rustic charm, but many also feature little in the way of windows, giving them a darker feel. • Objectives: Tahoe Modern was initially hired to improve upon a few aspects of this Truckee home, mainly the primary bathroom and mudroom. By the time the project was complete, however, all areas of the residence had been altered, ushering the home away from its wood-heavy origins and carrying it aesthetically forward through a large-scale interior remodel. The preliminary phase of the project—the bathroom and mudroom—established a recurring theme of enhancement.
