I remember looking through the TV Guide one night when I was in high school and seeing a listing for the movie Mom and thought that it sounded awesome. Unfortunately, we didn’t have cable at the time, so I was unable to see it. Thankfully though, about a year later after we got cable it was on HBO at like three in the morning and my friend Scott and I were able to check it out.

One Friday night when I was in eighth grade my dad went to the local video store to rent movies for the night. Normally this wasn’t a good thing because when he went by himself, he would come back with a bunch of Clint Eastwood movies or some random western or war films that none of the rest of the family enjoyed. This night was different though, and in addition to getting The Outlaw Josey Wales (for like the millionth time) he also grabbed a little flick called Don’t Go in the House.

I remember watching music videos on MTV with my sister when I was in 5th grade (yes kiddies, they actually used to show videos on MTV at one time, believe it or not) and was utterly shocked when they showed the trailer for Friday the 13th: A New Beginning at one point. I mean come on; Jason finally got killed in the last movie! It was called The Final Chapter, for Pete’s sakes, so there was no way they were going to bring him back, was there?

When I was in high school I really wanted to be a heavy metal bass player (despite the fact that I had no musical talent whatsoever), so horror movies that involved heavy metal bands-such as Black Roses, Trick or Treat, and even the incredibly atrocious Rock ‘n’ Roll Nightmare really spoke to me. I stumbled across Hard Rock Nightmare one night and at the time I thought that it totally and completely ruled.

I’ve always dug the Final Destination films and think that they are a lot of fun. The series itself is one of the most unique and entertaining horror franchises around, so I am quite excited to see the newest installment that hits theaters in May. I enjoy all the movies in the series and while some of them are better than others, all of them are decent in their own way. With that being said, I thought that I would take the time to rank the films in the series from worst to best.

I remember having a glorious snow day from school one day when I was in the 10th grade and braving the elements to walk down the street to our local video store to see if they had any new horror movies. I spotted Edge of the Axe on the shelf and grabbed it immediately because I thought that it looked like a fun little slasher flick.

While Spider-Man is my favorite superhero, I am also quite fond of Batman as well. I love Batman: The Animated Series so I was extremely excited when I heard that there was going to be a movie that took place in the same universe coming out back in 1993 and couldn’t wait to see it. One night back in the day I was hanging out with one of my friends and his girlfriend and we decided to go see a movie.

My wife and I have started watching old made for TV movies from the 70s and 80s on Tubi and YouTube recently. The other night we found one called Crawlspace from 1972 that neither one of us had ever seen or even heard of. We thought that it sounded like it could be interesting, so we gave it a shot and hoped for the best. So, did it turn out to be a huge disappointment or a hidden gem that somehow eluded us for years?

It’s officially the holiday season again, and while normal folks celebrate and get into the Christmas spirit by watching traditional films like It’s a Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th Street, and other Yuletide classics, the Martin household always gets ready by watching the 1984 slasher flick classic Silent Night, Deadly Night (my wife and I watch it and the original Black Christmas every Christmas Eve before we go to bed and await Santa’s arrival).

Let’s face it, there are some horror film characters that are so unlikable that you can’t wait to see them get what is coming to them. At the same time, there are also so incredibly likable characters that you hate to see get killed off and it stings a little when they do. In my opinion, there are a ton of horror film characters that you care about and can’t help but root for that end up meeting a grisly demise, so I decided to narrow it down to ten of them that I hated to see get killed.
