From tonight through Tuesday night, a trough currently situated over the area will shift eastward and exit the region. In its place, dry northwesterly flow will dominate the Pacific Northwest for most of the week. Temperatures on Monday will be near average, then increase to around 5 degrees above normal by Tuesday. Gusty northwest winds—particularly in and around Cascade gaps—will taper off overnight. After that, typical daytime breezes will persist in areas that usually experience more wind.

Overnight satellite images show clear skies across the forecast area, with a ridge gradually building overhead today. Expect dry and warm conditions through the day, ahead of more active weather moving in by Saturday afternoon as a broad trough from the North Pacific approaches. While most of the system’s moisture is expected to remain to our north, the deep nature of the trough will lead to significantly tightening pressure gradients. This will result in a breezy day across the region.
