I recently read on The Kirkwood Gadfly website about the city council’s decision to reject two tax-positive developments (both on Jefferson Avenue in the heart of downtown) aimed at enhancing Kirkwood’s downtown with increased parking, retail spaces, and housing — a combined $65 million investment. Unlike our most recent large-scale development, these proposals would have provided additional retail and parking spaces while supporting local residents and businesses.
