VATICAN CITY- Cardinal Cupich, the former Bishop of the Diocese of Spokane will help select a new Pope later this week. Cardinal Cupich is from Omaha where he was ordained a Priest in 1975 and served as the bishop of Rapid City, S.D., where he has been since 1998 before coming to Spokane. At the time the 61-year-old was appointed to replace Bishop William Skylstad, the former head of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. Cardinal Cupich was named Bishop of Spokane by Pope Benedict XVI in 2010.

SPOKANE, WA- Bloomsday is an event that brings thousands together, its also a diplomatic opportunity to introduce young Canadians to the states. Students with the Victoria School of the Arts in Edmonton made the hike down for the big race. Their school has a 25 year tradition of making the trek. Us Americans might love Tim Hortons and Hockey but these students were excited for chipotle. The students got the opportunity to see Spokane head of the race, do some shopping and take in our culture.
