    I have often found I don’t try something because I think I can’t do it but once I do, it’s not nearly as hard as I thought it would be. So while I’ve been hard at work the past year or so using AI tools for tasks to make things at my jobs go faster, even building small applications with API integrations, I hadn’t yet ventured into installing/configuring a local LLM because it sounded complex and I didn’t have time to ‘waste’ a few hours on if it wasn’t going to be much better than ChatGPT.

    Almost every company I’ve been a part of or interviewed seriously for either already has or wanted to create a master skill/standards list — commonly called a skills spine — to be able to used for content creation and learning resource alignment.     I've spent more and more time in the past couple of years augmenting my work day with AI assistance. First it was through tools Data Scientists at Empath cooked up, and of course since Nov 30th of last year it's been ChatGPT and ever-present improvements in the usage of that. But, coming to Frog Street in September- a preschool curriculum provider - full time has gotten me thinking once more about the wonderful world of "pre-workforce" education aka PK-12 education.

    Brief Intro: ChatGPT is a free tool by OpenAI that is called AI for Artificial Intelligence, but basically can act as a brainstormer, letter-writer, statistical analysis helper and instructions-maker. Go to chat.openai.com and create an account then follow along. I haven't found many things it can't answer to make everyday life easier. When searching for ChatGPT in the Apple app store, make sure you're getting the official OpenAI one and not a knock-off.

    Each year, the Mazza Museum, located on the campus of University of Findlay, holds two picture book conferences where illustrators and authors educate the conference participants about the books they create. The presenters mesmerize the audience with the methods and processes they use to make the books as well as fascinating background stories about their work. Books from the authors and illustrators at this year’s conference, held Nov. 11, are featured in this months reviews.
